A rescue pooch who has a "super waggy tail" and who loves dog toys has been given a new identity after being branded the worst named dog in the UK.
Battersea Dogs & Cats home ran a competition offering people the opportunity to suggest new names for Froglette, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who has been at the charity's kennels for a year.
Adam Knight from London suggested the pooch be named Summer, after he rescued a Staffie from the charity and named it Winter.
He said: "I think there's definitely something in names of seasons. So I picked Summer as it reflects her bubbly personality and suggests that this Summer could be her best season yet by finding her a new home."
Battersea operations manager Carlton Spears explained that Summer's new name suits her personality.
He explained: "She needed a name which conveys her character and Summer does that very well. It is a fun and friendly name, just like Summer."
The charity reveals that Summer enjoys eating peanut butter and Marmite and listening to classical music.
