Amanda Seyfried was spotted out in West Hollywood walking her pooch with a dog collar and lead.
The actress was pictured showering her Australian Shepherd with affection as she visited a local cafe, reports the Daily Mail.
Ms Seyfried, who is best known for her roles in Mamma Mia! and Mean Girls, petted her pooch, whose name is Finn.
The 25-year-old may have been seeking solace in her four-legged-friend after splitting from her latest beau Ryan Phillipe.
According to reports, the couple had been dating for three months. A source told US Magazine: "They are not dating anymore and it's not a big deal for either of them."
Ms Seyfried got Finn a year ago. In an interview shortly after, the actress revealed her feelings for him.
Showbiz Spy quotes her as saying: "He is a little guy with a big heart. He is the love of my life."
Her comments follow research by M&S Money revealed that 42 per cent of Brits would pick their pet over their partner.
