Lotilaner Elanco contains the active ingredient lotilaner which is an antiparasitic medication from the isoxazoline class. It works by inhibiting gamma–aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels, and so killing target parasites. It is licensed for use in dogs and cats and comes in the form of a chewable tablet.
The product has only just received a positive opinion for initial marketing on the 14th July 2022 so it will be a while before it is released onto the veterinary market. We will provide more information on the product when it becomes available.
