What is GDPR?

In simple terms, the General Data Protection Regulation is a reform to the 1995 Data Protection Directive, and aims to strengthen laws on data protection, ultimately safeguarding the rights and freedoms of you and other EU citizens, and giving you control over your personal data.

These rights ensure your personal data is only processed with your consent, and it is the responsibility of the companies and organisations handling this data to ensure your rights are always upheld and that only the data necessary for the specific purpose is held.

How will it affect me?

What this means for you is that you will now need to ‘opt in’ to our emails/newsletters if you haven’t already done so. You will be asked to do this before the 25th of May 2018 or else be automatically un-subscribed, with respect to the Regulation.

We would love to stay in touch with you, so if you would like to continue receiving the great benefits you get with our emails, including expert advice, tailored offers, rewards and deals, and topical news and discussion, please opt in to our emails and tell us which animals you are interested in hearing about/receiving deals on.

This is easy to do; simply log into your account and review your preferences: https://www.viovet.co.uk/account_emails.php

As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
