Our customer asked:

Hi, my horse is being treated for laminitis and is very footsore. Vet wants me to turn him out in soft ground. I have trouble getting him from stable to field each day as he is very sore.Would the foot wrap be suitable for him?

Our reply:

I am not sure what you mean. The hooves can be made more comfortable by using frog supports, which should be applied according to the directions of your farrier or veterinary surgeon. (They are on our website.) However I am not sure I would turn him out at all. It was thought that gentle exercise would help cases of laminitis, but this is questioned now. It is possible that extra movement damages the structures within the hoof further. If you take a look at

www.laminitisclinic.org

there is quite a lot of good information and advice there. Personally I would suggest using frog supports and following the advice of a good equine vet.
