Irregularities in bowel movements is a common complaint for dogs and cats, whether it be due to not getting enough fibre in their diet, from stress, over enthusiastic hunting/scavenging, or if they are just prone to the odd bout of tummy troubles.

ReguTumFibre Care is a high fibre prebiotic and probiotic powder formulated for comprehensive long-term support to encourage:

  • Healthy digestive function.

  • Normal anal gland function.

  • More regulated bowel movements.

Given daily, ReguTum™ Fibre Care is formulated to avoid problems that arise from insufficient dietary fibre, support the digestive tract, and is ideal for long-term use.

For short-term support and to firm up loose stools, we recommend using ReguTum™ Probiotic Paste.

How does it work?

  • Contains high levels of soluble and insoluble dietary fibre to assist with improving the bulk and consistency of stools to help regulate bowel movements and encourage the emptying of the anal glands.

  • Bentonite clay helps to absorb toxins in the gut and firm faeces. (Also making them easier to pick up!)

  • Prebiotics and probiotics help increase the number of good bacteria in the gut to aid healthy digestion.

  • Contains a range of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, B12, C, D, E and K to help nourish and promote better overall health of the digestive tract.

  • In a palatable powder form which can easily be mixed in to food for easy feeding.

Mix directly into food. Divide the recommended amount evenly between the number of meals. If using dry food, a small amount of water can be added to the powder to help it adhere to the kibble if needed.

VioVet's Response:

Hi Gina, sorry to hear your cat wasn't happy with the new addition to his food! In this case, we recommend starting with a small sprinkle, and every couple of days, increase the amount included in the food until your cat is receiving the full amount required (or even as much as hey will tolerate, as this will still give digestive benefit).  If your cat eats wet food this should mix in easily but if feeding dry, adding a small amount of water to make ReguTum Fibre Care into a paste first should help it stick to the kibble so it isn't left in the bowl. We hope this helps!

Poppy has a benign tumour which cannot be removed. She cannot poo normally. Only small amounts often. ReguTom helps bowel movement with no discomfort. Her life expectancy could be limited if tumour becomes malignant. I have giving her an easy painless life. I love my golden and feel ReguTom is excellent.

Greyhound with Folate Deficiency

My Greyhound has folate deficiency and takes Cobalaplex and YuDigest but still often has a slightly loose tummy. Is it safe to use this alongside them?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes ReguTum is safe to use alongside Cobalaplex and YuDigest. YuDigest and ReguTum do share the same probiotic ingredient though which will be a waste double dosing. You may want to try switching YiDigest for ReguTum and only use both together if you are still seeing no benefit after 2 to 3 weeks.

Cat throwing up

My cat Molly is already registered with you. Over the last 2 or 3 days she has been bringing up fur ball (which I don't think is a problem) but she is also bringing up a lot of just liquid & froth & is off her food. I wondered if ReguTum would be a good thing to give her. It is difficult for me to visit a Vet as she is a big cat & I am 90 years old & disabled. I would appreciate your advice.

  • VioVet Staff

ReguTum FIbre Care is great for normalising stool function and the intestinal system. The signs you describe could be vomiting or regurgitation. This could be related to the hairball but if this does not normally occur when your cat brings up a furball then I recommend getting your vet to diagnose the cause. ReguTum can help with vomiting if it is related to an intestinal upset but it is important to rule out other more serious causes of these signs.

My 7month cavalier should have 2x quarter scoops per day. My husband mis read info & gave 1+ half scoop at breakfast. I wasn’t aware of what he had done so gave her 1/4 scoop with evening meal. Can this harm my dog ?

  • VioVet Staff

ReguTum Fibre Care is a supplement and so is very safe, it is almost impossible to overdose with it. Excess overdoses over time can lead to constipation however the occasional accidental overdose should cause no issues, I would not worry.

Use along side a multi-vit?

  • VioVet customer since 2020
  • From: West Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Would this be ok to use daily as well as the viovet multi vet chew? (Perhaps the powder in breakfast and vitamin chew in later in the day?)

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Caroline,

These would be fine to feed together so I'd recommend going with whichever works best for you and your dog :-). I currently feed raw, and include ReguTum Fibre Care & TotaVit in the same meal with no problems digestion-wise with my two.

Splitting them between breakfast and a meal later in the day though can work well and means your dog won't have two new flavours in one meal so might be worth trying first. I hope they help!

Stomach ulcer

Kimberley Westby

We have a whippet who suffers from stomach ulcers, would this help her?

  • VioVet Staff

Yes this supplement helps support normal gut function and can help alleviate ulcers if abnormal gut microflora is a contributing cause. It is unlikely to work as a sole treatment for ulcers though, often prescription medications such as Zitac or Omeprazole are required for this. Gastrointestinal prescription diets will also help, I advise discussing the treatment plan with your vet.

  • VioVet Staff

Yes ReguTum Fibre Care can be used in a 5 month old puppy safely.

Scoop and packaging

This may be a silly question, but why was the powder in a plastic bag inside the tub?
Also, there is no scoop so could you let me know what spoon size a scoop is?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Carole,

Not a silly question at all :-)

The plastic bag is to keep the product as fresh as possible, and to ensure the live beneficial bacteria inside it are preserved through it's shelf-life.

The scoop should be inside the bag, but could have jostled to toward the bottom of the powder during transit - if you can't find it do let me know and I'll see if I can get some spares and send one to you!

Each scoop provides 10g of powder (probably around a tablespoon) so if you have kitchen scales and are happy to do so, you could measure a scoop with your spoons to see which is best.

Kind regards,

HI this would work out quite expensive for my retriever fed every day and his digestive problems are usually just when he's been eating something he shouldn't. could i put him on a maintenance dose?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Helen,

Yes you can certainly put him on a maintenance amount - ReguTum Fibre Care is intended for daily use, and if you were to use 3 scoops per day (assuming he is around 35kg), it would be around £0.66 per day.

However, if you feel that he doesn't have digestive issues that often, you could reduce to 1-2 scoops (£0.22-£0.44 per day) and increase to 3 scoops when he has eaten something he shouldn't. Each scoop is 10g, so there are about 50 scoops per pot.

Alternatively, you could buy ReguTum Probiotic Paste and only feed this at times of digestive upset, to help bring his stools back to normal quickly.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Daily use

Can I use the reg u tum probiotic powder daily throughout my Gsds life he is almost 3 years old and this works. We also keep in stock reg u tum paste when he has a poorly stomach of which is used only in them circumstances, we have not used the paste since using the powder

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Louise,

I'm really pleased to hear that ReguTum Fibre Care Powder is helping! Yes, you can use this daily throughout his life :-)

You can just add in the ReguTum Probiotic Paste for a few days when he needs extra support, which hopefully will remain less frequent now.

Kind regards,
