This is a complete and concentrated food supplement for small herbivores which can be given through a small syringe directly into the mouth, or may be eaten without help if the patient is not too ill. Critical Care food is usually given after an illness or surgical procedure and aids convalescence.
Developed with the assistance of top exotics veterinarians and nutritionists, Critical Care is the industry standard in recovery nutrition for herbivores with poor nutritional status resulting from illness or surgery. Critical Care contains all the essential nutrients of a complete diet, as well as high-fiber timothy hay to support proper gut physiology and digestion.

Bought as a standby just in case our rabbits are not eating , when vets are only open for emergencies

Fantastic product. My guinea pig loves this stuff, no 'force feeding' needed in my case.. she's just had surgery and critical care is keeping her going. Also very handy for mixing meds in, rather than having to syringe feed them/stress them.

Hello,
I'm just curious, how far will a packet of this go? Specifically for a medium sized-large adult rabbit?
Also, how long wil it keep? I have three rabbits, one 11yr old cinnamon doe and two 14 week old kits - a dutch (possible dutch cross) and a rex - who I will probably get spayed soon (once old enough), and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to keep some of this stored in case of emergency.
Would it also be suitable for my kits after their future spay?
This product can be used in a few different ways, with other foods or on its own. The recommended amount to give is up to 3 tablespoons per kg bodyweight. It comes in sealed foil pouches and our current stocks are dated best before end of Dec 2015. Once the pouch is open, then ideally it is used up in 24 hours.
