New to our OraFresh™ range!

OraFresh™ Oral Care Solution has been formulated to help maintain oral health and promote fresh breath by simply adding to drinking water. A perfect addition to your pet's dental care routine, to help freshen breath and reduce oral bacteria between meals.

The mild formulation does not give drinking water a strong flavour, so it is accepted even by fussier pets.

• Pomegranate extract helps to reduce oral bacteria and plaque formation

• Palatable and easy to use.

For best results, we recommend using alongside OraFresh Dental Granules in your pet's meals, and OraFresh Oral Hygiene Paste for a complete dental care package.

55 Improves doggy breath

We use this alongside dental stick products, but I really notice the difference in our rescue pup's breath with this product. When the bottle's run out and I forget to buy another one for a while, I can definitely notice his stinky dog breath coming back. It's certainly prevented further plaque build up, but I'm just so impressed it neutralises his smell, even after he's eaten a salmon dinner...

My only complaint would be that the bottle runs out quite quickly.

Upset tummy?

Debra Ludlow

Hello, looking for something to add to my girls water to try and help with teeth (chihuahuas) as they won’t let me brush them.
Would this upset their tummies at all do you think?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Debra,

It shouldn't cause any stomach upsets if used in the recommended concentration - you use just 10ml (1 capful) in 500ml drinking water. We haven't had any feedback about upset stomachs and I have a friend with two chihuahuas with dental problems and they've found this an easy way to introduce some daily dental care.

Some dogs and especially Chihuahuas have the shape of mouth that makes them more prone to dental problems as their lips cover the teeth and bits of food build up towards the back of their mouths, which an ideal home for the bacteria that cause plaque and tartar.

Do you think your girls would want to lick a poultry flavoured paste from your finger? Once they're used to that you could build up to rubbing it on their teeth so they have something directly in contact with the teeth also.

Alternatively, OraFresh Dental Granules can be sprinkled over food (start with a tiny pinch and build up to the required amount if they're suspicious of flavour/scent changes. These granules will spread around their mouth as they chew their food, and help to prevent bad bacteria build up and plaque formation which leads to tartar. I've personally found this the most effective for my terrier who used to suffer with bad back teeth.

I hope this helps!

My cat has suffered from gingivitis is this good to use to treat the problem have tried toothpaste but won't let us apply

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for your question,

OraFresh™ Oral Care Solution has been formulated to help reduce bad bacteria and build-up in the mouth which can lead to the worsening of issues such as gingivitis, while being virtually unnoticeable in their drinking water, so is a great option if your vet has recommended using a toothpaste, but your cat won't allow it to be applied. As part of the same range, we also recommend using OraFresh™ Dental Granules which can be added to your cat's food and will help mechanically remove build-up in the mouth while they chew (it also tastes particularly good to cats!). From using it with our own pets, we've found it can also really help with bad breath!

I hope this helps.
