Obviously the cat wasn’t impressed, but this shirt fitted well, stopped him nibbling his stitches, and allowed him to use his litter tray without soiling the shirt. But he did walk a bit oddly.

Hi, my cat keeps getting out of her surgery suit. I’m not sure how as I haven’t actually seen her do it. I just find it on the floor. Any tips or advice to stop this happening?
The shirt should stay on comfortably if the correct size is chosen. It is recommended you contact your vet to discuss this further if they applied this after the op themselves, they may be able to explain their sizing choices in more detail.

Hi, my kitten has been given this by the vet to wear after spaying, as she looks so uncomfortable in it I checked and it seems that the seam is rubbing on the spay site? It seems there is another thicker layer of material going round the belly area which comes together at the seam which is right over her wound and the wound isn't dressed in any way. Is this the correct way for it to be worn? Thanks
Most cats will seem a little uncomfortable with the medical pet shirt on initially. This is because the sensation of having a coat on is new to your pet. However after a few hours they should settle.
With regards to the shirt rubbing on the wound, I recommend discussing this with your vet to check this is normal or not. Medical pet shirts are great for management post operatively for cat spays so it is highly likely this will not be an issue but I cannot guarantee it.

Can my cat go to the toilet with the shirt on or do you have to unbutton it so it doesn’t get soiled?
Yes your cat can urinate and defaecate normally with the shirt on. The hole at the back allows for toileting without needing to unbutton the shirt.

Is it also suitable for post surgical procedures such as spaying as your description only indicates medical conditions?
Thank you
Yes these shirts are perfect for use post operatively. The surgical site itself must be underneath where the collar sits though, a cat spay incision will either be on the left flank or underside of the belly so will be covered by this shirt.
