Why Choose Drontal Cat Film-Coated Tablets for Small and Medium Cats?
Drontal Wormer Tablets for Cats kill every type of intestinal worm commonly found in UK cats, giving you peace of mind that you are helping keep internal parasites away from your pet and family.
Every cat can get worms – however soundly they’re sleeping. Cats with worms often won’t show any signs of a worm infection, but left untreated they can lead to serious health complications for you and your family. Drontal cat film-coated tablets are highly-effective and shaped to make worming easier for both you and your cat. You might not know if your cat has intestinal worms, but you can trust Drontal to help combat them.
INSTRUCTIONS
For single oral administration.
For cats over 6 weeks of age and weighing:
£ 2kg = 0.5 tablet
2-4 kg = 1 tablet
For cats greater than 4kg it may be more convenient to use Drontal Wormer Tablets for Large Cats (Over 4kg).
For cats greater than 6kg, it may be more convenient to use Dronspot Spot On Wormer for Large Cats.
The tablets can be given directly, but if necessary, can be disguised in food.
How often should I worm my cat?
Research has shown that the majority of cats in the UK should be wormed monthly, based on their home environment and lifestyle such as scavenging, hunting, and spending time outdoors.* However, there may be situations where less frequent treatment is required and it’s best to speak to your vet about the most appropriate worming frequency for your cat.

I bought this as it is recommended by pets. It is a bit difficult to give. I tried to hide it inside treats. It worked once but the next time she didn't eat the treat. I had to forcefully open her mouth and put it in. It worked but she was very frightened. I am hoping it works. She used to drag her bottom and does not do it much now.

Would this be ok to give to a 3 month kitten?
Yes this product is safe for use in a kitten over 6 weeks of age. The dose for cats under 2kg and over 6 weeks is 1/2 a tablet.

Hello
Can you please tell me if the cat and dog termaworm products kill the same worms as the drontal products please.
Thank you
Yes I can confirm our own brand TermaWorm kills roundworms and tapeworms, just likey drontal does. Neither will cover lungworm but this is currently not a major issue in cats in the UK.

For what period of time is one Drontal tablet effective for? Weeks, months...?
There is no mention of this in the literature provided with the medication.
Why s this relevant information missing?
Drontal is not a preventative wormer, it will start working after a few hours in the body and will have been broken down and used within a few days. During this time it will kill all roundworms and tapeworms, but not lungworm.
We usually advise worming every 3 months as within this time period the average dog will have ingested worm eggs from outside and have some adult worms in their intestines. Worming less frequently, for example yearly, can lead to a heavy worm burden building that can cause weight loss/diarrhoea and other signs. This greatly depends on how many worms your dog picks up from being outdoors through scavenging, or from their feed.
