Easy to use and convenient, the adaptil collar releases dog-appeasing pheromones constantly, even when the dog is outside, to keep it calm and relaxed in all environments. The dog’s body temperature and close contact warm the collar and encourages the diffusion of pheromones into the local environment. It is essential the Adaptil collar is in close contact with the dog’s skin at all times. Browse our range of calming behaviour products for dogs and other non-prescription medications.
These collars are ideal for puppy socialisation, travelling, kennelling, training, loud noises, and while staying at home alone. The Adaptil collar is available in two adjustable sizes: puppy/small dogs (fits neck up to 37.5cm) and medium/large dogs (fits neck up to 62.5cm).
Each collar lasts up to four weeks and can be replaced as required.
Adaptil also comes in express tablets and refills/sprays.
Product information
How do I fit an ADAPTIL collar?
Note regarding puppies: as the puppy grows, it’s important to regularly adjust the fit of the collar to make sure it’s not too tight.
The Adaptil Collar is proven to work on all breeds of dog, as long as it is fitted correctly.
The appeasing pheromone is released almost immediately, However, it is worth noting that the collar will not work when it is wet but diffuses again as soon as it’s dry.
If your dog wears another collar, it is important to ensure the collar stays in contact with the skin. Please note it cannot be used to attach a leash.
Do not use the collar on dogs with extensive skin lesions.
Do not open the protective pouch until the product is ready for use.

Bought for Neala as she's developed issues travelling and of course like many dogs, she's very aware of storms, shivering, running round unsettled, unable to be distracted from her fear. We had a distant rumble of thunder at 2am and she didn't even wake up. Later that morning there's another single rumble of thunder and no response. Normally she would show signs of extreme distress even at 1 rumble, but she didn't. So I suspect the collars working for thunder, I've yet to take her out in the suv to see if it works for travelling. Did also buy the spray as we'll soon be going on a 5hr drive and I don't want her stressed. Hopefully I believe the combination of the 2 will see her settle. I believe the collar does work and was well worth the money. Neala isn't keen on collars so is still not happy wearing one. She doesn't attempt to pull it off. They're easy to trim to size. Very pleasant scent which starts to fade after 2wks of being out of its packaging. Neala doesn't wear it 24/7. Just for about 8to10hrs a day and not every night, just to get her used to it.

I ordered these so if fireworks went off while my dogs were on a walk, it would at least have a bit of a calming effect until they got home

Willow is a nervous dog at the best of times and fireworks make it worse. I’ve seen a positive change in her behaviour since using the collar.

We buy the collars regularly for our dog as she benefits quite a bit from them. She is more relaxed whilst out walking (she was nervous of everything when we first got her) and generally more chilled with one than she is without

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Adaptil Collar for Dogs, including answers from our team.
Heather
Would the collar help a rescue dog that barks alot to be quieter ?
This collar helps calm your dog. If the barking is related to stress or excessive excitement then it may help reduce this. However if it is a behavioural problem then you will still need to train the behaviour out of your dog.

How long does each collar last? How often do you need to change it?
Each collar lasts up to four weeks and can be replaced as required.
Helen Whiting (whiting157)
Nervous collie, has Yucalm which helps slightly, but could the collar be used in conjunction with this?
Yes Adaptil works differently to oral calmers, like YuCalm. Both can be given together safely.

I have a cocker spaniel. Please can you advise me as to which size collar I need to purchase as I can find no recommendations on your site.
Hello,
Thank you for your question.
Adaptil collars are available in two adjustable sizes: puppy/small dogs (fits neck up to 37.5cm) and medium/large dogs (fits neck up to 62.5cm). Once you have measured your dog's neck we would recommend purchasing the correct size as per the size guidelines.

Do I have to keep it on continually as I am putting my dog on Yucalm and want to use the collar when I take her out
Hi Glenys,
Each collar lasts up to 4 weeks and can be replaced as required. You can leave it on until it is no longer effective. If your dog wears another collar, make sure the Adaptil collar remains in contact with the skin and is not used to attach a leash to.
I hope this helps.

my dog suffers really bad with separation axity he won't stop howling when left alone its so bad i can't leave him alone 4 longer then an hr as my neighbors complain will this work as im all out of ideas to help him
Hi Emma,
Thank you for your question.
It may help but for severe separation anxiety the best advice would be to consult a canine behaviourist. The Adaptil collar is designed to help reduce anxious behaviours but may work best in combination with the Adaptil diffuser/tablets too. We have a blog on separation anxiety which you might find useful: https://www.viovet.co.uk/blog/p129-Separation_Anxiety.
Hope that helps,
VioVet.

is it possible to get refills for the collar.. or do I have to get a new collar every time ? thanks
Hi Natalie,
The collar lasts up to 4 weeks and needs replacing when it stops working. It is not possible to buy refills.
I hope this helps.
