Henley pups in need of waterproof dog collar and lead?

A waterproof dog collar and lead may be an option for owners who would like to take their pooch to a new specialist swimming pool.

Doggy Dips in Henley on Thames has been set up by Beverley Dobson, a qualified canine hydrotherapist, reports the Henley Standard.

The swimming pool is 25 ft by 15 ft and has been designed to help dogs that are recovering from joint or limb injuries or surgery, but is not exclusive to these pups.

Ms Dobson told the news provider: "As swimming is non-weight bearing, it allows the dog to exercise and rehabilitate in safe surroundings assisted by knowledgeable therapists.

"Swimming is not only for the recovering dog but is great exercise for puppies who, due to their soft and vulnerable joints, are unable to cope with much land-based exercise."

She added that swimming is also beneficial to dogs with arthritis as it helps maintain the level of exercise the pooch needs to keep fit.
