Cairn Terrier takes train to Stoke-on-Trent

Tuesday, 20th December 2011

A cheeky little Cairn Terrier decided that he fancied a trip away so he hopped on a train to Stoke-on-Trent.

Edd, from Cheshire, is described by his owner Erica Smith as "a bit of a loner" and had wandered off without being kept on a dog collar and lead, reports the BBC

Nevertheless, when Edd went missing from his Alsager home, the family were frantic looking for him.

Luckily, the dog was found and picked up by the RSPCA, which contacted the family to let them know Edd was safe and well.

Ms Smith told the news provider: "He has been to the station to watch people go off on trains, so I'm just assuming he pootled his way up there and hopped on.

"I'll maybe pop down to Stoke with him on his lead on the train and thank a few people.

"It could have been worse, the train might have been going to London."

This follows news of a cat from Dorset who has taken to going on bus journeys on his own around the local area.
