A Briard from the US has ditched his dog collar and lead for an alternative means of transport.

Rather than going on a traditional walk, 20-month-old Norman rides around on a razor scooter, reports the Daily Mail.

Karen Cobb, Norman's owner, told the news provider: "He began playing with the kid's scooter in the backyard and we thought it would be fun to give him a ride on it.

"Then we decided to teach him to push it and now he loves riding his scooter."

His scooter riding has become a hit online, with Norman's talent garnering a number of followers on social networking website Facebook.

Since he shot to fame, Norman has appeared on hit US TV programme the Late Show with David Letterman.

As well as performing his unusual trick, Normal also competes in a number of obedience competitions. At the age of just 15 months, he received the Companion Dog title.
