As previously reported, cats have recently become the purrfect inspiration for many a fashion guru's (ahem) catwalk collection – but now it's the turn of stylish canines to strut their stuff.
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is preparing to host its fourth Collars and Coats Gala Ball on November 8th 2012, in which the animal refuge's dog residents will rock the latest haute couture for one night only.
The fundraising event will celebrate Battersea and all the work it does, with designer dog coats and accessories being supplied by the likes of Stella McCartney, Faberge, Mulberry, Henry Holland and Vivienne Westwood.
"This will be the most wonderful and unique fashion fundraiser and we know our dogs will really enjoy it," said Claire Horton, chief executive of Battersea.
The rise of dog fashion means owners don't have to go designer to pamper their pooch – a new dog collar and lead could do the job just as well.
