Great Dane and Kitten eat pet food together

An unusual friendship has formed between a Great Dane and a kitten, with the duo doing everything together, from eating their pet food to napping.

Eve Hughes from Suffolk revealed how her 13-week-old kitten George has become "inseparable" from Shadow, a three-year-old Great Dane who is 65 times heavier than his feline friend, reports the Daily Mail.

She told the news provider: "They just sniffed each other's noses and have been inseparable ever since.

"They have an amazing bond, it really is very sweet because Shadow is so protective of George.

"George sits between Shadow's feet to eat his food and they always go out into the garden together in the morning."

According to Purina.co.uk, people who are introducing a new dog into a home that already has a cat, need to give the feline time to gain confidence and both animals need their own space.

It notes that kittens normally love dogs and dogs do not find kittens threatening. However, dogs may chase kittens, so the two should not be left alone until they have formed a good relationship.
