Sick cat finds new home

A cat that needed pet meds for a number of illnesses has managed to find a new home with a caring family.

Crystal was suffering from gingivitis, cat flu and conjunctivitis and was brought into the Blue Cross.

Potential owners were, unfortunately, put off by her ailments and staff at the Lewknor rehoming centre were concerned that she would not find a new home.

However, staff member Joanne Waterfield decided to adopt Crystal. Animal welfare assistant Jess Hollis says: “Crystal is settling in amazingly well and has stopped all medication for now.

“Joanne says it is like she has always lived there and she loves to sit on the windowsill and look out on to the garden.”

The Blue Cross recently started a search for homes for a litter of kittens that were taken to the Cambridge rehoming centre.

Claire Thomas, animal welfare assistant, said that after eleven weeks, all the kittens and their mum have been rehomed.
