Pet medication and trips to the animal pharmacy can be a costly endeavour for pet owners, but with more companies than ever now offering competitive insurance rates, it is easier for the costs to be mitigated.
GoCompare has recently added John Lewis Pet Insurance to its comparison website, allowing pet owners to search through 20 different providers to find the best rate. The website, renowned for its marketing campaigns featuring fictional Italian tenor Gio Compario, will add John Lewis to a long list of other firms, such as Animal Friends, Pets at Home and the RSPCA.
Mark Greening, head of home services at GoCompare.com, told Wales Online: "John Lewis Insurance is a great addition to the GoCompare.com pet insurance service and we’re thrilled to be the first comparison site to welcome these products on to our panel.
"We are always looking to expand the range of risks that we can cover for pets, and help owners find the right level of cover for their requirements, without them having to break the bank."
He added that 48 per cent of UK households have at least one pet, but over half (56 per cent) don’t have insurance to cover them.
