Dental problems in dogs can cost a lot to fix, vet says

If a dog needs pet meds for a dental problem, it can cost a considerable amount to fix sometimes, a vet has said.

Marc Abraham, a vet who is also a TV and radio presenter, explained the more that people can do to prevent dental problems in dogs, the healthier and happier they will be.

He said that if you allow problems to build up, it can prove very costly in the long run, so prevention is the best way to keep a dog healthy and affordable.

In terms of what to look out for with canine dental problems, Dr Abraham said: " Dogs can get lethargic and they become miserable because dental health not only affects the mouth, it affects the whole of your dogs' body so it is important to get it right and to keep your dogs mouth nice and clean."

Dr Abraham is the resident vet on a number of TV programmes, including BBC's Breakfast, This Morning, the Alan Titchmarsh Show and It's Me Or the Dog.
