Thursday, 19th April 2012

The most talented working dogs from across the country are set to gather at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire for the Kennel Club's Gundog Working Test.

The event will take place at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire between May 31st and June 3rd and will showcase Retrievers, Spaniels, Hunt, Point and Retrieve breeds compete.

Caroline Kisko, communications director for the Kennel Club, said: "The [event] is a fantastic chance to give healthy, happy dogs the opportunity to show off what they do best. It is fantastic to see so many dogs doing what they were originally bred for, and it is clear that they love taking part in."

She added that the tests taking place over the weekend allow these breeds to put their natural instincts to good use.

Levels of experience of the competing dogs vary and there is even a Young Handlers Gundog Working Test, which allows young people to show their skills.

Those wishing to participate have until May 10th to enter their gundog.
