Charity to host responsible dog ownership day

Thursday, 11th August 2011

People living around Virginia Water in Windsor may like to learn about the best kinds of dog food and different types of pet medication at a day dedicated to responsible dog ownership.

The event will take place at the Virginia Water Car Park, Windsor Great Park, this Sunday (August 14th) between 10am and 4pm.

During the day, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be offering discounted microchipping and visitors can meet some of the pups currently residing at the centre.

Kaye Mughal, centre manager at Battersea Old Windsor, said: "It's a wonderful opportunity for us to talk to park-goers about what we do at Battersea, how they can help, and what they can do to be a responsible dog owner.

"Hopefully we'll find lots of new homes for our dogs so they too will be able to enjoy the grounds of the park with their new families."

There will also be Members of the Crown Estate's Visitor Services Team and Wardens Department, who will be informing members of the public about the rules and regulations surrounding dog walking in Windsor Great Park.
