Best in show for rescue dog

Wednesday, 4th May 2011

A rescue dog that narrowly escaped being put down may well be enjoying a new dog chew toy and some high quality dog food after winning best in show.

Paddy, a German Shepherd, was moments away from being put to sleep before being rescued by K9Focus, reports the Mid Devon Star.

However, after being rescued, Paddy found a new home with Sarah and Wayne Campbell, who have taken good care of the unwanted dog.

Paddy was awarded best in show at Okehampton's May fair, which took place on Sunday (May 1st).

A spokesperson from K9Focus said: "Sarah and Wayne have done wonders with him and they are very proud of his achievement, as are we all.

"He is a well loved member of the K9 Focus family and a good representative for this fledgling dog rescue."

The charity is a non-profit organisation that has the sole aim of rescuing and re-homing abandoned and unwanted dogs.
