Recycle Purina cat food tins for charity

Thursday, 24th May 2012

Cats Protection is urging people to recycle their Purina cat food tins in order to help raise money for the charity.

Last year, the 2012 Together We Can campaign raised £10,000 for the charity, with the money being used for an isolation ward at the Nottingham Adoption Centre.

This year, Cats Protection needs people to pledge to recycle their steel pet food cans on the Together We Can website.

When the target of 75,000 pledges is reached, Purina will donate £40,000 to Cats Protection and two other charity partners.

A statement from the charity said: "To support Cats Protection simply enter your unique code found in FELIX or WINALOT can promotional multipacks and pledge to recycle your steel pet food cans online at www.purina.co.uk/wecan.

"If you do not have a unique code you can still pledge to recycle your steel pet food cans and help us reach the target of 75,000 pledges."

As well as helping the charity to care for homeless cats, people who pledge also have the chance to win £2,000 off their energy bills.
