Owners struggling to find pet-friendly rental properties

A number of owners are struggling to find rental properties that would allow them to feed their feline cat food and accommodate their cat scratch post.

According to an article in the Guardian, renters are finding it increasingly difficult to find pet-friendly properties.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home revealed it has witnessed an increase in the number of animals being given up because their owners cannot find somewhere suitable for them to live.

Liz McWalter, head of intake at the charity, told the news provider: "We're seeing a lot of owners coming to us when they are left with no option but to give up their pet because of housing problems.

"Seeking our help is the responsible thing to do and we will always aim to do all we can. Owners should never resort to dumping or abandoning their pet."

One website owner experiencing this problem could check out is Pet Friendly Rentals, which aims to support tenants by providing them with information on landlords who allow animals in their properties.
