Firefighters spend 12 hours rescuing toy cat

A missing cat was the reason why firefighters spent 12 hours rescuing a cuddly toy in Anglesey.

Puss Puss, from north Wales, is heavily pregnant and has been missing for four days. A local passing a clothes bank raised the alarm after hearing meowing. Some people even brought cat food to the bin to tempt out the cat.

However, after a 12 hour operation, which included a specialist steel saw, it was discovered that the crying noise was coming from a toy cat.

Kelvin Owen, owner of the clothes bin, said: "Once we got into the bin we heard the meow again, it sounded just like a cat and we all started to carefully search the bags.

"Then I found a bag of toys and picked out a toy cat ... As I held it, it went off, meow, meow, mystery solved!

"The lads were in stitches, it was such a laugh."

Puss Puss is still missing. Anyone with information on her whereabouts can get in touch through the Facebook page Freetogoodhome Anglesey.
