Coffee-cat: New cat café set to open in London

Thursday, 3rd January 2013

Following the success of Tokyo's famous 'cat cafes' – where customers get the chance to snuggle up to a furry feline whilst enjoying a brew – an Australian entrepreneur named Lauren Pears is now planning to open Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium in London.

And it's not just the customers that are set to benefit, as Ms Pears promises all resident cats will be "spoilt" with love and attention, as well as receiving the highest possible welfare treatment.

The cats will be re-homed from the Mayhew Animal Home, therefore providing a comfortable living environment for dozens of abandoned animals, and will have their own resident vet to provide all the support they need, as well as a regular supply of the very best cat food and pet medications.

Elsewhere, a cat lover named Fran Bailey has had the faces of all five of her deceased cats tattooed onto her back so that she can honour their memory.

The 23-year-old from Newtown, Mid-Wales, currently owns five more cats, but says if they die she'll have to think of another way of paying tribute as she has no space left for tattoos.
