Cat stolen by MP's wife found safe

Emilly Cox, who had her cat stolen by an MP's wife, may have to buy a bit more cat food after her pet was found with a litter of kittens.

Christine Hemming took Ms Cox's cat in September last year after she found out her husband was having an affair with the animal’s owner.

Beauty, the cat, was found by nurse Sheila Bates after her tom cat Felix bought the animal home.

Ms Bates said: "I let her in and gave her some food and she's come back every day since."

She noticed who the cat was after Ms Hemming was convicted last week and contacted Mr Hemming, who came to collect the animal.

The whereabouts of the kittens are unknown at the moment so the couple gave the cat back to Ms Bates so Beauty can look after her litter.

Mr Hemming said: "We noticed she was still lactating and we discussed it with Sheila and she said yes, she recently had kittens so, we put her back with Sheila."
