Cat lovers being urged to join fun run for charity

Cat lovers who want to do their bit to help felines find new homes and to buy them cat food are being urged to take part in a fun run.

South Wirral Cats Protection has entered a squad into Chester Academy's family fun run at Chester Racecourse on April 29th, reports the Ellesmere Port Pioneer.

The cat rescue and rehoming centre is now looking for people to join the super-hero themed team.

Branch member Dorothy Morgan-Leaing told the news provider: "You don't have to have the power to fly or leap tall buildings - just by taking part and raising money for Cats Protection you're a superhero to us.

"It's not only great fun in a wonderful setting, but your efforts will enable us to improve the lives of many more unwanted cats and kittens in South Wirral."

The money raised through the fun run will go towards looking after and buying cat food for felines waiting to be fostered and rehomed.

Cats Protection recently launched a campaign to encourage pet lovers to adopt cats aged over 12 as they now wait an average of 96 days before being rehomed.
