Our customer asked:

My 14 month old wiemeraner has a feed sensitivity and thus relies upon hypo allergenic, sensitive feeds and treats. I am currently seeking a suitable oral hygiene bar for him much like the pedigree denta sticks, however due to their unsuitable composition of cereals I am unable to feed them to him.
Could you please inform me of any suitable oral hygiene bar alternatives?

Our reply:

Food sensitivities are rarely a problem with regard to food items which are made from a single, simple animal source. There are lots of suitable treats to try, and none of them contain any cereal at all. You do not need to use something very complicated for this. Simple and natural is often best, though might not always appeal to modern human ideas of what is "nice". I would consider any of the following, they should be fine for your dog and are very good for the teeth. Give sparingly at first, say one every 3 or 4 days. Then you can safely build up to one or more a day, once the digestion has had chance to get used to them:

Hollings Pizzles
Techni-Cal Venison Chews
Zealandia Ribbies
