Our customer asked:

I have a 3yr old Irish setter. His previous owner advised me that using Drontal had made the dog very sick. She had been using Cestem tablets and these were better for him. However, even the Cestem seems to make him sick. I am wondering if you can recommend anything that might be perhaps a little more gentle?

Our reply:

Some dogs will vomit with certain wormers. If this seems to be the case then I would try Panacur instead. It is usually easiest to use the Panacur Granules, but there is a paste and a liquid suspension available too. Panacur contains fenbendazole as the active ingredient, which is different to the standard multi-wormers like those you have used, and it is very gentle on the dogs digestion. The granules are tasteless and most dogs will eat them happily if they are mixed with a little tasty food.
