Mirataz contains the active ingredient mirtazapine, which is an appetite stimulant. Previously we only had tablet forms of this in veterinary. Mirataz is a transdermal gel, meaning it is applied onto the skin, in particular the ear pinnae.
This could prove really useful for cats who are underweight, or inappetant for other clinical reasons. In these situations tableting can be very difficult, while applying transdermally can be a lot easier.
Currently Mirataz is not on the market, but is set to be released soon. When it is available you will be able to buy this from our website, alongside a written prescription from your vet.
16/10/20 Update - Mirataz still does not have a confirmed UK launch date, but we will update this page with any new information as it comes to light.
