Spot-on solution for topical administration.
Rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets over 1.2 kg body weight, and birds over 666 g body weight.
Indications for use
Topical insecticidal and acaricidal spot-on solution. A simple and effective spot-on solution for prevention and treatment of common internal and external parasites of small mammals and birds.
Applied to the skin, Xeno 450 is absorbed into the body and is particularly effective against the parasites which cause ear disease in the rabbit and ferret, and the mites that cause skin disease in guinea pigs and rabbits, including mange in guinea pigs and the condition known as walking dandruff in rabbits. It is also effective against many of the parasites which cause skin and feather problems in birds.
The active substance, ivermectin, is a substance known as an endectocide because it kills parasites that cause infestation inside the body (endoparasites) as well as those living outside the body on the skin (ectoparasites). Ivermectin is used in many species for the control of mites, roundworms and lice.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Xeno 450 Spot-On Parasite & Flea Treatment, including answers from our team.
Is this suitable to use on dwarf hamsters, Russian winter white, to prevent problems with parasites please.
It depends on the type of parasite being considered. Generally speaking this is one of the best type of anti-parasite product for use in small animals. However, hamsters are unusual in that their most common internal parasites are tapeworms, which are not affected by this type of wormer. Hamsters do also get pin worms sometimes as well as skin mites and these do all usually respond to this form of treatment. The drug praziquantel is best used for tapeworms usually, which is present in the Droncit products. Your vet should be able to help you decide what needs to be done with your hamster.
How is the medication administered to my Rabbit. Does it come in pipette form or power and do I have to measure the dosage?
You can click on the headings in the description and read the full information provided there. Basically these are pipettes of liquid, applied to the skin. The active ingredient is absorbed through the skin. You use one pipette for a rabbit weighing between 1.2kg and 2.25kg, or 2 pipettes for between 2.25kg and 4.5kg, or 3 pipettes for 4.5kg to 6.75kg, or 4 pipettes of over that weight.
How often can i apply xeno to my ageing ferret he is 1-500kg my vet said 2 peppets for his size but i want to know how long to use it for.
The usual recommendation is to apply monthly if you need to. It is safe to apply as often as every 2 weeks as long as you do not overdose at the time. Monthly is normally plenty however.
Is xeno safe to use with thesupperlorin implant in my ferret as he is old and has coushings .
Xeno 450 can certainly be used along with the Suprelorin implant. An older ferret with Cushings is probably quite frail anyway, but both of these products are safe to use in theory.
