The Shires Tempest Original 50 Detachable Neck Turnout Rug is a versatile design that is great for the warmer wet weather. The neck cover easily attaches to the rug and fastens with touch close straps, providing extra coverage and warmth where required.
Key features include a ShireTex® 600 denier ripstop, waterproof and breathable outer with taped seams, along with adjustable buckle chest straps and adjustable cross surcingles. A generous tail flap gives even more protection to your horse's hind end.

Measure Your Rug
Fitting Guide

  1. Measure from the centre of your horse's chest to the buttocks where you would expect the rug to finish.
  2. Once you have the measurement refer to the rug sizing guide above (for guide purposes only)
  3. When you receive the rug please ensure you try the rug on over a clean sheet. This keeps the rug clean and hair free allowing for its return if the size is incorrect.
  4. Check that the rug fits correctly - Correctly fitted horse rugs should not be too tight across the shoulder & should reach the base of the horses tail (excluding tail flap)
  5. The rug must fit correctly before leaving the horse unattended. A rug that is too tight may rub and pull across the shoulder. Too big and it may slip and be trodden on.
