Easy to use, very good vaslue for money. I use it regularly when cleaning out my chickens - I spray it on the wooden housing and leave to air dry for a few minutes before putting their bedding down. I've had no problems with mights or any infections so far, so it's a good preventative.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Smite Red Mite/Parasite Treatment & Disinfectant, including answers from our team.

we have Yorkshire terriers that suffer from red mites at this time of year, can we use this type of treatment on them.
This product is intended for use with chickens and their housing only. Red mites in dogs are usually a different type of mite and medications are often required to treat them. Unfortunately their are no over the counter mite treatments for dogs, I recommend contacting your vet for an appropriate prescription for a mite treatment.

We have a serious infestation of red mite getting worse in the hot weather . Can we spray hen and ark at same time and should we keep hen out of ark following the treatment
The spray shouldn't be used directly on the birds but it is safe to spray the housing with the birds in situ and any overspray will not cause a problem. You can then use the powder directly on the birds.

Can this be used on reptile mites
I have contacted Smite who manufacture these products, and they can confirm they are safe around reptiles. The powder can be used directly on reptiles whilst the spray/liquid is for the housing and environment only.
