Description

Royal Canin Dog Dental is a specially formulated diet for the management of canine oral health. The diet contains an active blend of tailored ingredients to help minimise tartar build up and salivary calcium accumulation, promoting healthier teeth and gums. The formulated kibble is mildly abrasive in shape and texture to further reduce plaque and tartar and contains a patented blend of enzymes to improve the condition of teeth and maintain a hygienic oral environment, whilst acting to combat bad breath. The kibbles can seem quite large for very small dogs but this is to ensure that they do bite into the biscuits and use their teeth. Very small kibble does not require much chewing and so the dental health benefits of the food could be reduced.

Will this help dogs who already have tartar

7th Jul 2015
Barbara

I have two standard yorkies who fight me every step of the way when trying to clean their teeth. Will this food help me in trying to give my dogs good dental health.

John Cousins
  • Veterinary Surgeon

There is nothing as good for teeth as regular brushing. However, this diet should indeed help if the brushing cannot really happen. (Many people have this problem, which is why this type of diet exists!)
