Description

Royal Canin Renal Select (RSE 12) is a complete dietetic dry food for dogs which has been formulated to support renal function in cases of temporary or chronic renal insufficiency by providing high quality protein and low levels of phosphorus.

The Renal Select diet provides a different kibble which is designed to rehydrate the dog due to the softer texture of the kibble which is easier to chew, but has the same taste as the standard kibble.

A veterinarian’s opinion should be sought before first use or extending the usage period. Chronic renal insufficiency should require feeding Renal Special for up to 6 months. Temporary renal insufficiency should be met with a period of 2 to 4 weeks feeding.

55 Yorkie with Renal Failure
Verified Purchase

By on 19 November 2015

My little Yorkie has been diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure
and has been quite poorly. She is 11. Since starting the renal food she is like a new dog! The product obviously has all the correct nutrients and amount of low protein she needs. She is back to running again on her walks and we hope we can keep her for a bit longer! Thank you

The difference between Royal Canin Renal dry foods.

Jayne N.

My dog has kidney disease and is currently being fed on “Royal Canin Renal Select”. Is there any difference between this , “Special” and “ Clinical “ please, as I am uncertain of which one would be best for her.
Many thanks
Jayne

Hi Jayne,

All of the Royal Canin renal diets come under the clinical range, so Renal, Renal Special, Renal Select and all of the wet renal diets.

The Renal Select is made using a different type of kibble, which is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. This also makes it easier for older cats to eat as it is easier to crunch. Renal Special smells different to the other two and is another option for the days when their appetite might wane a little. All are equally suitable to help manage kidney disease.

I hope this helps.
