They are clearly tasty but don’t really think they last long enough to help with cleaning their teeth. Have 2 dogs, they get half a bone each which lasts no more than 30 seconds. Have persevered for several months, no observed improvement in their teeth. I do use plaque off powder and brush their teeth but they do still have some tartar I’m hoping to shift but not sure these treats are really contributing much. They are also very expensive for dog treats as you don’t get many in a bag.

Tried this as she loved the bacon flavour and this too was a hit. Gradually getting rid of tartar, will have to continue to see results

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding Plaque Off Veggie Dental Bones for Dogs, including answers from our team.

Pancreatitis and this product together?

Can I give my dog with controlled pancreatitis these dental treats on a very low fat diet?

  • VioVet Staff

Plaque Off Dental Bones are great for the average dog but they do contain flavourings and ingredients that could set off an episode of pancreatitis in a dog that is severely prone to it. I recommend avoiding all treats and sticking with the low fat diet your dog is currently on. If you want to improve dental hygeine then you can try brushing the teeth or using non edible bone chews such as some of the Nylabone products.
