My vet recommended this product, my cat wasn't too keen so had to put it on her top lip and she liked it off, she's used to it now in usually eats it no problem and it's helped towards her recovery.

45 Fussy puppy

This is easy to give to a very picky puppy who will only eat a little chicken. She won’t eat it herself but let’s me pop it in her mouth. It’s good to know she’s getting the missing vitamins from this easy to use paste

55 Brilliant product!

Max's illness had taken him from the 'eat anything available' dog to being very fussy and finicky and reluctant to eat anything at all. I had to puree his food and feed him through a syringe. Nutri-vit really helped turned things around. He happily takes it from a spoon and he loves it. I can't believe how much it has helped him, providing the goodness he has been missing out on through eating so little.

Q & A

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding VetIQ Nutri-Vit Plus (Formerly Nurish-UM), including answers from our team.

Is this item ok for a cat with kidney disease?

Cole_Cats

My wee 15 year old cat has been diagnosed with kidney disease and has lost a lot of weight despite recovering well from her treatment. She's on a renal wet food diet but she's very fussy [always has been]. Would this gel be ok for her? Is it low in phosphorus?

  • VioVet Staff

Whilst this gel is great for the average cat I cannot guarantee it will be safe for use if your cat has kidney disease. It contains beneficial minerals and ingredients, like potassium and sodium, but these need to be carefully controlled in a cat with renal disease. I recommend sticking with the renal diet exclusively if possible. You can use alternative brands of renal food if your cat is fussy, but I recommend running this past your vet first.

For a Maine Coon

Sharon Allen

  • VioVet customer since 2018
  • From: County Armagh, United Kingdom

Hi, I'm getting this for my Maine Coon who weighs 11.5kgs.. what would be the correct dose as he's larger than the standard cat? Thanks.

  • VioVet Staff

Cats:
1/2 tsp (2.5g / 2.5cm) daily
1 Teaspoon = 5g (0.18oz)

I would assume the same dosage still applies, otherwise they would state a dosage for each size.

6 week old kitten with possible liver shunt

Hope - Liver shunt kitty

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Somerset, United Kingdom

Would this be okay to supplement a kitten with liver shunt? I see no copper or iron on the added supplements but want to be sure it's safe to give her when she's fussing on her milk (and food when she's weaned)

  • VioVet Staff

There are sulphates of both iron and copper in this product, though only in very low levels. They are normally included in mineral supplements as they are needed by cats. For your cat, it might be best to go for a simple vitamin supplement such as Beaphar Multi-Vitamin Paste for cats.
