For dogs that love life, joint degeneration can have a huge impact on their physical and mental well-being. While not all joint problems are preventable, involving joint aid supplements is a sensible investment for the future, as these contain the key ingredients needed for joint tissue repair and renewal. In fact, many people now include joint supplements as a staple part of their dog’s diet, whether or not there is an existing problem.

Extending VioVet’s service of care to pets everywhere, we have developed ‘Joint Force®,’ our own branded joint care supplement. ‘Joint Force’ offers high quality daily nutrition that is cost-effective and for those who are unable to be in for parcels, the pack of 120 is uniquely packaged to fit through your letterbox.

Additional Feeding Guidelines

If your dog is over 7 years old or showing signs of stiffness, use twice the daily amount for 4-6 weeks and then reduce to the above quantities. If your dog requires more than one tablet, we recommend giving half of them in the morning, and the other half in the evening.

Consult your vet before feeding to a pregnant or lactating bitch.

Why use Joint Force®?

Joints are specialised structures which allow a range of movements and endure a lot of stress from everyday use. When joints become damaged over time, the loss of mobility and pain can greatly reduce a dog's quality of life and activity levels.

Supplementation is a popular method of maintaining joint health, intended to extend a dog's period of mobility and comfort. It is believed that as many as 1 in 5 dogs could benefit from a dietary supplement, so we have developed Joint Force with both your dog's needs and your pocket in mind.

Joint Force has been formulated to provide a cost effective and unique combination of 9 high quality nutrients, believed to be beneficial in the following areas when fed daily.

Glucosamine HCl is an important building block and major constituent of all joint components, cartilage in particular.

High quality Chondroitin is found naturally in the Green Lipped Mussel and is key to maintaining cartilage elasticity and promoting the formation of new joint structures.

Manganese is known to activate many enzymes involved in tissue repair and maintenance. For instance, collagen has great tensile strength and is essential for strong connective tissues, including ligaments which hold the bones in the joint together.

Chondroitin provides cartilage with its vital shock-absorbing quality to protect the joints from impacts. Its number of functions help to slow the deterioration of cartilage.

MSM is a rich source of sulphur, with many roles beneficial to joint health. It is believed to work in combination with Glucosamine to inhibit joint degeneration and support recovering tissues.

Hyaluronic Acid is a vital component of synovial fluid, the lubricant between joint surfaces. HA gives the fluid its cushioning properties and allows friction-free movement.

Antioxidants Vitamins C and E work together to minimise the harmful effects of free radicals generated during exercise.

Turmeric has been used by many cultures for hundreds of years and is thought to boast both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with joint health.

Green Lipped Mussel is a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids, widely used as supplements for their anti-inflammatory properties. Omega-3 fatty acids also act by inhibiting the conversion of Omega-6 fatty acids into harmful agents that drive inflammatory reactions.

Boswellia serrata is traditionally used in herbal remedies for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Each of the above areas contributes towards an overall level of activity a dog can achieve. The longer joint structure and integrity is maintained, the longer our dogs will be able to remain supple and comfortable.

Each dog will respond as an individual to any supplementation but Joint Force ingredients have been carefully selected, based on both scientific reasoning and traditional use, to give them the best chance of feeling the benefits.

What is Letterbox Friendly Packaging?

Joint Force® 120 tablets are specially packed into a slim, flat container, rather than a round tub, so that your order can fit through any standard letterbox, saving you a trip to the post office or trying to remember which neighbour might be in to take it for you! With Joint Force, you know your dog's tablets will be waiting safely inside for you when you return home.

25 Cheap alternative but dog won't eat them!

I originally purchased Yu Move joint tablets for my dog. When I went to re-order, these were suggested as an alternative. At Ā£8 cheaper I thought it was a no brainer. However, my mastiff won't eat these ones and she has to have 3, so not worth the fight getting her to eat them. Will go back to Yu Move. Although more expensive, at least she eats them!

Side effects

Sharon

Can these tablets have side effects like itching

  • VioVet Staff

Joint Force is a supplement, categorised similarly to food. It is a very safe product and there are no listed side effects, however if your pet is allergic to one of the ingredients then this can appear as skin problems (itching) or intestinal upset (diarrhoea) as with any food. I would stop giving Joint Force and contact your vet if this starts shortly after starting the product.

Where are the ingredients sourced from?

Dawn

Hi, where are all the ingredients sourced from, i.e. which country? Thanks.

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Dawn,

Thanks so much for your interest in Joint Force. All of the raw materials for this product are from UK suppliers. We source as many ingredients as we can from the UK for our whole Own Brand Range, and occassionally have to go slightly further afield but still within the EU when they are unavailable to us locally.

We always want to ensure the best quality, and our manufacturing partner has this as top priority :-) I hope this is helpful!

Best wishes,
Danielle

Give as an addition to medication

Ann Dodd

  • VioVet customer since 2018
  • From: Merseyside, United Kingdom

Good evening
Can these tablets be given alongside metacam syrup?
My dog is struggling with arthritis and is on metacam but I don't really want her on bigger dose of metacam
Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Ann,

As a general rule, Joint Force is safe to use with medication as the ingredients in the supplement are natural and are unlikely to affect the medication.

Joint supplements and Metacam are often used together and I think Joint Force would be an excellent choice to help support your dog's joints. It's best to let your vet know when you next see them that your dog has started on a supplement - hopefully after a few weeks they'll be feeling the benefits and you can continue working with your vet to see if their medication needs adjusting :-)

Wishing you all the best!

Danielle

Can these tablets be ground up?

bechenly

Can these tablets be ground up, and be put in their dinner? I've got a fussy dog who would be suspicious of new things...

  • VioVet Staff

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your question. Joint Force Tablets can certainly be ground and added to food, or even broken in half and disguised in a softer treat/small piece of cheese if that works for you. We have taster packs of the tablets if you wanted to order these at the same time (do you can check your dog eats them before opening a full pot).

If your dog is extra fussy, we'd recommend our Joint Force Soft Chews For Dogs - these are soft, crumbly and meaty (most dogs absolutely love them!). They make a great treat or even a dinner 'topper'.

What are the dosages for 35kg

Katy

How many should I give my 35kg dog?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Katy,

If your dog is new to joint supplements and is showing signs of stiffness, I'd recommend building them up to 3 tablets in the morning and 3 in the evening for about 4-6 weeks (introduce any new supplement slowly in case they're sensitive to dietary change). Then you can reduce to 3 tablets per day.

If you're transitioning them from a current joint supplement or you'd like to start giving it to support joint health through their life, then you can just start with 3 tablets per day.

I hope this helps and your dog gets on with Joint Force :-)

Have a lovely Christmas & New Year

Age

jenny freeman

At what age can these tablets can be given from?

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for getting in touch.
These are suitable from 8 weeks old, as long as your dog is on solid food and you are confident that they are capable of chewing the tablets up. We have also put our Joint Force formulation into a soft chew which we would recommend as more suitable for puppies as they are both easier chew and can be crumbled up into their food if desired.

Hope this helps.

Liver Disease

Joanne Martindale

  • VioVet customer since 2015
  • From: Bedfordshire, United Kingdom

Our 10 year GSD has hip dysplasia and arthritis and has been on metacam and joint force. She has been diagnosed with liver problems and wondered if she is safe to carry on with Joint Force, thank you

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Joanne,

It should be to carry on but it would be best to check with your vet if they have advised you on any dietary changes you need to make.

Joint Force will contribute a very small amount of protein to the diet (0.2g per tablet) but the ingredients are unlikely to interact with new medication / supplements she is now on but again your vet will be able to confirm this for certain :-)

Kind regards,

Danielle

Dog suffering Kidney disease

Shelagh Funnell

Hi there, My dog is on Galliprant and Gabapentin for arthritis but also has chronic kidney disease. She's 16. I have ordered some salmon oil but your product has also been recommended. Is it suitable for a dog with struggling kidneys? Also, her appetite comes and goes due to her issues. Thank you. Shelagh

  • VioVet Staff

Hi Shelagh,

Thank you for getting in touch. In terms of interaction with her medication, Joint Force should have no interaction with them due to its natural ingredients, and should be able to be safely given with them. If you give her medication in the morning, you could give Joint Force in the evening if you wanted to.

In terms of her diet and stress on her kidneys, if she is on a low protein diet, Joint Force will not add much protein overall.

Per tablet, the amount of protein in grams equals 0.2g, which is a tiny amount in the scale of her overall daily intake.

If she needs multiple tablets for her weight, total protein she will receive from it will remain low:

2 tablets = 0.4g protein
3 tablets = 0.6g protein
4 tablets = 0.8g protein

The protein amount Joint Force would contribute to his diet would be extremely small, but you can always show this to your vet for their approval before trying it :-)

If she struggles with her appetite, the Joint Force Soft Chews may be a better option for her, as they're a crumbly texture and smell like smokey bacon. Most dogs love them like treats, and you could also crumble them on her food to tempt her to eat.

If you need any further information please let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Kind regards,

Danielle
