Hello, I just wondered what the sizing is for these rugs please? I have a 15.2 PRE who would normally wear a 6 foot/6 foot 3 standard rug. Thank you
Lycra/rubber stretch rugs aren’t measured in feet and inches across the back like traditional turnout rugs. Instead, they’re sized by horse type (Pony, Cob, Full) because the stretch fabric adapts to your horse’s shape.
If you're unsure which size fits your horse best, here’s a quick fit check:
Measure your horse from the centre of the chest (point A), across the shoulder, to the centre of the tail (point B).
Compare with standard turnout rug charts to match your horse's A–B length to the corresponding rug size (e.g., a 6'0"/72″ rug is typically “Full”)
Use that to guide your Lycra size:
Chest-to-tail ~5'0″–5'6″ → Cob
~5'9″–6'3″ → Full
Smaller lengths → Pony
