My neutered Patterdale needed to lose a bit of weight. My vet recommended Hills w/d and I now feed the dog with some of the tinned and dry w/d mixed together. Dog is looking a bit leaner. It is expensive though. I must confess he does get a live ttle bit of cooked chicken mixed in as well but as he seems to be losing weight my conscience is clear.

55 Controlling a medical condition by diet alone

My 12 year old orange roan cocker has been on Hill's prescription diets since he was three. It was then that he had become poorly. Investigations uncovered the presence of stones which had to be surgically removed (two of which had developed to the size of the old half crown coin). He was then put on the c/d diet which was highly successful in preventing the reformation of stones.
Three years ago he developed pancrititis . Switching to an i/d diet successfully controlled the pancrititis but did not prevent the formation of stones. After discussion with the dietry team at Hill's, my vet prescribed the w/d diet. This has been completely successful in controlling both conditions without recourse to medication etc
The niblets are a quality product - no powdery residue to be found at the bottom of the bag
If necessary to make them extra attractive, moisten with a little hot water and drain - the aroma is to die for and little Boa finds it appertising too!
The product comes beautifully packaged ,making it easy to dispense with no bag collapse spills and keeping it really fresh and crunchy.
Added bonus - pack is pretty dog tooth resistant should some dog body bypass security to raid the larder.
Wholeheartedly endorse this product
