Bought to replace (in our experience) the dreadful standard fluval lights. 3 Failed within 18 mths (one Within a month) by gradually losing LEDs then not going completely dark at nighttime (important in a bedroom). Strongly suspect they are not IP rated for a reason.
Aquasky was easy to set up and just about fits (albeit there’s quite a gap around the light if you want it level and could allow flyers to escape. We bought a 3D printed light raiser from Etsy that works brilliantly. App is a bit clunky but the timer works well. We don’t have any real plants (only Moss balls) so can’t comment on the light performance.
Hopefully the IP67 rating and the raised profile will mean it lasts longer than the typical 6mths of the supplied lights. The fact its considerably cheaper and has way more functionality is also a bonus.
