Description

Intestinal parasite repellent for poultry, ducks, pigeons, game, aviary and caged birds. This is a natural herbal combination with no pharmaceutical chemicals. Due to the natural nature of this product withdrawal of eggs is not required. Safe for eating birds, no ‘lay off’ period required. 20 drops per 100ml of water (in separate feeder), 3-4 days per month, will treat 4 birds for up to 16 months. If putting water into feeder you need to withdraw all other water until feeder is empty then add clean water. Delivery of aerosols

Due to air freight restrictions aerosols cannot ever be sent abroad by Royal Mail. We appreciate your understanding.

Delivery of temperature controlled items

Some products, such as insulin and frozen food, need to be delivered in insulated packaging to prevent them from getting too warm (or too cold) during transit from us to you. Purchasing any of these items in your order will result in a £1.99 charge being added to the total to cover the high cost of the insulated packaging materials. You only pay the £1.99 once per order, regardless of how many temperature controlled items you purchase in that order.

To return an item, you must contact us by phone or email to arrange this BEFORE posting any product back to us. We will explain the process at this stage for you.

What's the active ingredient of Chicken Wormwood?

  • Veterinary Advisor

That is a good question. This is a herbal product and to my knowledge no scientific tests have been conducted to establish proven efficacy or what exactly the active elements are. The ingredients are listed below. The belief is that through the combination of the plant extracts included, the birds by whatever mechanism are able to eliminate some or all worms from their digestive tract. As a retail supplier we have not conducted any tests ourselves as that is beyond our capability. We can only pass on the information we receive from the manufacturers. It is only with licensed medications that thorough scientific evaluations and controls are made. The ingredients are tinctures made from:

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium): A traditional remedy for gut hygiene, a long history of use for intestinal hygiene.

Walnut (Juglans cinerea): Good liver herb used traditionally to cleanse and to help control intestinal hygiene.

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum): A good remedy to help promote intestinal hygiene.

Garlic (Allium sativum): Good cleanser with a history of use for gut hygiene.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris): Traditionally used to cleanse and help controle intestinal hygiene.

Clove (Syzygium aromaticum): Traditionally used to help control intestinal hygiene.

Quassia (Picrasma excelsa): One of natures best known insect repellents, with a long tradition of use for intestinal hygiene.
