My cat had been in a fight with a neighbour's cat and had a nasty wound on his ear. With two applications of this ointment, it had scabbed over and has now healed up nicely. I recommend it.

Wonderful healing properties. Always clean injuries or stings etc and then put this balm on to keep it clean.

I’m planning to buy the shampoo, and this along with it. But I’m not completely sure for how long I’m supposed to use the ointment, and when I should apply it, and how many times a day. I’m not sure if I have to apply it before or after shampoo, and I’m not sure if I’m supposed to use it the same way I’m supposed to use the shampoo
You should dry the area after shampooing/rinsing then apply the germicidal ointment onto the wound site. You should clean the area and reapply the gel once daily. It acts as a barrier between cleaning to disinfect the site but also prevent infection externally entering.

Is this product safe for use on both cats and dogs, would be very handy to have a product that can be used to treat wounds in both species :)

Is there an issue if a dog licks this .I do plan to cover the area but it would be good to know as my dog is quite "resourceful" when nibbling at a sore!
Hi Elaine,
Thank you for your question.
It won't do your dog any harm if he does lick it as it is only an antiseptic, although i am not sure he will like the taste of it.
