Easy to apply once the cat is restrained. The cat won't touch food that has worming tablets in no matter how well disguised.

Excellent product to make sure my kitty's are worm free, so easy to use as a spot on as my cats are monsters for spitting out tablets.

Such an easy way to worm our feral cat Sid! There's no easy way to get a tablet down a cat's throat so this is the answer.

I don't like using powerful drugs on domestic animals, but my cat hunts and had developed a tapeworm. DronSpot seems to deal with these effectively.

Donna kerry

Does the drontal spot on wormer go on my cats food or on the skin... Thanks

  • VioVet Staff

The spot on goes directly onto the skin on the back of the neck, not on the food. I have pasted the dosing guidance from the data sheet below:

Spot-on use for external application to the skin.
The cat should be accurately weighed prior to treatment to ensure that the correct pipette size is used.
one pipette from package. Hold pipette in upright position, twist and
pull off cap and use the opposite end of the cap to break the seal.
the fur on the cat’s neck at the base of the skull until the skin is
visible. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly
several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. Application
on the base of the skull will minimise the ability of the cat to lick
the product off.

How many pipes?

How many pipes I need to apply for each cat? I mean, I tried others and I needed 2 pipes for each. Thank you

  • VioVet Staff

The size of Dronspot you need will depend on the weight of your cat. Small cats 0.5-2.5kg will need a Small Cat pipette, 2.5-5kg medium cats will need a Medium Cat pipette. Large cats 5-8kg will need a Large Cat pipette.
You only need to use 1 pipette of the correct size for a full doseage per cat.

How often

How often should I worm

  • VioVet Staff

This will depend on various factors. If the cat is any of the following they should be treated monthly:

  • Living with children, elderly people and/or pregnant women
  • Hunts and eats wildlife
  • Lives out most of the time
  • Low immunity or other health issues

Otherwise they can be treated every 3 months.
