I bought this after using the Body suit for Isla after her spey. That was very successful so I thought the Body Sleeve Hind legs would be ok for her after surgery on her hind leg. I couldn't get it on her and the fact that I needed to cut holes for her to go to the loo wasn't an easy option - getting them in the right place? I ended up using the original Body Suit and cut the leg and foot off some old woolly tights. She lay on the floor and I tacked the top of the leg to the suit and then took it off to machine stitch it in place. With a bit of juggling of the press studs she could wear it all the time, even when going out to the garden. Suggest Body Suit looks at that option, back legs could be poppered on - I won't patent it!
Very disappointed

I’m after a post-surgery suit with legs which is a suitable shape for a standard dachshund

Nicola

I’m after a post-surgery suit with legs which is a suitable shape for a standard dachshund, please advice. She is having surgery near her hip, hence needing something that will come down the leg.

It is advised to discuss this further with your vet before choosing a specific post op product. The shirt you need will depend on the loccation of the surgical site. This hind leg shirt is great for preventing interference with the hind leg area however it will need removing for your pet to toilet. This may be difficult if your vet advises restricting movement in the hind area. They may recommend using a cone shaped collar instead to reduce unecessary movement of the rear.

Toilet Openings

Katharine

Can dogs go toilet both their business and wee in these? Or make it so they can?
My dog has a severe skin infection on the top on is hip bone. Has an open wound so looking for something to cover it as doesn’t like the wind blowing against it when on walks.

You will need to roll these up so your dog can toilet. If it is the top of the hip that you need protecting then the MPS medical pet shirts may be more suitable as the Buster Body Sleeve Hind Legs is more intended for full hind leg coverage. You will find the MPS shirt easier to roll up as your dog needs to toilet. I advise checking the product photo though to ensure it will cover the wound area.
