Description

Easy—one tasty chew or a topical solution with an easy Twist'n'Use™ applicator.

Bravecto chewable tablets contain fluralaner and are used in dogs to control fleas and ticks. One dose is effective for 12 weeks against fleas and most types of tick. Bravecto can be given safely to breeding dogs, including pregnant or lactating bitches and puppies from eight weeks of age. The tablets should not be broken prior to dosing and are best given with food.

Dog tablets

Bravecto is only effective once the parasite has bitten the dog and taken some blood, so in a heavily infested environment, newly attached parasites might be seen briefly before they die. Newly emerged fleas will be killed before they are mature enough to lay eggs, so the life cycle of the flea is effectively stopped.

Bravecto® chewable tablets for dogs

How to give BRAVECTO to dogs

A single dose of BRAVECTO Chew should be given to the dog by mouth with food.1

A single dose of BRAVECTO Topical Solution for Dogs should be given by parting the dog's hair and applying the product directly to the skin between the shoulder blades.2

Flea and wormer what strength for a dog that is only just over 10 kilo

Lin

Vet has issued flea tick and a wormer for medium dogs 10 kilo to 20 kilo
My dog a dachshund crossed with Jack Russel has always had the dose for 10 kilo and under
However he became 10. 45 kilo so I cut his treats and weighed his food he is now slightly under 10 kilo yet the vet has issued the medium size
Should I take back to the vet or is it safe to give the 10 to 20 kilo to my dog ?? Thankyou

  • VioVet Staff

I would double check this with your vet as we would recommend the Small Dog. 4.5-10kg.

Can I use bravaco 20kg dog
For worming roundworm as well thanks

  • VioVet Staff

You cannot use the standard Bravecto (20 kg dog) product to treat roundworm. Bravecto’s active ingredient, fluralaner, only offers protection against fleas and ticks in dogs—it does not cover intestinal worms such as roundworm or hookworm.

Will you accept a 1 year prescription for this product?

Melanie

  • VioVet customer since 2016
  • From: Castell-nedd Port Talbot, United Kingdom

My vet tells me that they will issue a prescription with sufficient repeats for 1 year of treatment for this product. Will you accept this, or would you limit it to 6 months only?

  • VioVet Staff

Written prescriptions in the UK are valid for only up to 6 months from the date of issue. This means vets usually only prescribe at most 6 months worth of medication on one script. However it is not illegal to prescribe more and we can accept prescriptions for greater quantities of medications, such as 12 months worth. You must order all these medications before the script expires though.

Fleas on dogs

Helen Whitmore

We are currently using Prinovox pipette, but they are not working, they seem to run out of protection before the month is up. Have only just renewed , how long before we can try Bravecto tablets.

  • VioVet Staff

Bravecto and Privinox do not share similar ingredients so they can be safely used together. You do not need to wait for the Privinox to wear off before starting the Bravecto.
If you are having problems with fleas then I advice reading our blog 'Help - my pet's got fleas!'. Getting flea free requires treating the house and taking into account other considerations too.

Safe for Border Collie/ Austrailan Shepard Mix?

Debbie

I have a 1 1/2 year old Aussie/Border mix who weighs 60 pounds....is Bravecto safe for collie mixes?

  • VioVet Staff

This product has been tested at a three-fold overdose in collies with the known genetic variation and found to be very safe. As long as you give the correct dose it should be perfectly safe for your "collie mix".

Spot on

Julie cottam

How soon after using stronghold spot on can I safely give my dogs bravecto ?

  • VioVet Staff

The active ingredients in these two products are completely different and there is no reason to expect them to interact adversely at all. Theoretically it should be safe to give Bravecto at the same time as Stronghold, but it would be sensible to discuss this with your own vet first.
