Summer camp being held for future Pudseys

Young dog owners who think they and their pets could be the next Ashleigh and Pudsey may want to book a spot on next year's National Training Camp, run by the Kennel Club.

The Young Kennel Club will be showing owners how to do heelwork to music, a sport that has shot up in popularity since the dancing duo won Britain’s Got Talent.

Fern McDonnell, a 15-year-old who takes part in the sport with her dog Lola, said: "What I like about heelwork to music is it combines a lot of the other disciplines that I have learnt from agility and obedience that I can express in a fun way.

"I can put my own imagination into a routine to music I enjoy, and the dogs respond well to learning new tricks."

To take part in the National Training Camp, young people need to become members of the Young Kennel Club.

Details on how to become a member can be found at the Young Kennel Club website.
