Our customer asked:

I wonder if you can help me. My little dog who is 14 is doing really well except he suffers from gas in his stomach, plus when he is sick it is yellow bile. Is there anything you can recommend which would help him. He has tried omerprezaloe and zantac which doesn't really help.

Our reply:

There are all sorts of things which could make your dog like this. At 14 years old his digestion will not be as robust as it was, and it might not take much to upset it.

Personally I would try changing his diet. Firstly it might help to give 4 small meals through the day, rather than just 1 or 2. Secondly I would try him on one of the easily digested foods, such as Royal Canin Sensitivity Control, or Hills i/d diet for dogs. Either of these might well just make life easier for his digestion and get him back on track. Thirdly I would try one of the probiotic supplements, such as Pro-kolin Enterogenic. They are a bit unpredictable as far as how effective they will be, but the do no harm and will sometimes make a big difference.

Check with your own vet, but these are the sort of things I would try.
