When our cat was diagnosed with significant kidney failure, we feared the worst. That was 18 months ago and she is doing very well. We believe that Pronefra has been an essential part of her living well even with reduced kidney function.
We worked out how many drops are the correct dose for her and use the dropper to add Pronefra to her wet food, and then mix it in. She does not seem to mind the medicine at all.

It's easy to use just get the cats weight right and use syringe to measure and put in the cats meat or in kitties mouth if ur cat doesn't attack you. Heee. Vet recommended it but as I already buy from VetMedsDirect got it cheaper here.

Very good product, my cat has been prescribed this for his kidney disease and the first test are very positive

We tried this six times and all with bad results. She would not eat her food with even a drop of this in it, and when given by mouth she threw up over and over again, for hours. So we threw it out and will rely on the left over renalzin and aluminum.
I could find no bad reviews of Pronefra so I felt I should post our dismal results.

If my dog skips a meal should I still give Pronefra?
Pronefra contains a phosphate binder which aims to reduce the phopshate levels within food that is given. It therefore should only need to be used in food that is eaten. It is best to consult your vet though just to be certain, they may have information about your specific pet that we do not.

My dog doesn't like the taste so won't eat right away. Can I safely give the dose up to half an hour before, will it still be effective?
It is safe to give the product beforehand, but it might be more effective to give it immediately before any food.

How quickly does Pronefra work and how long does my dog need to take it?
This product is intended for animals with reduced kidney function. This is usually a life-long problem so the treatment is the same. If your dog has a temporary problem then you might not need to give it for ever, but your vet will be able to advise you. Once you have started to use Pronefra it will gradually start to have an effect from the first dose, but the effect is cumulative over a period of weeks or more. You would hope to notice something after 1 or 2 weeks, but it is not an instant cure.
